In The Heart of Florence
Great location, near Santa Maria Novella and all major attractions
Just a short walk from the main train station and all major sites in Florence, our hotel is a gem sitting in the heart of the city – yet slightly off the beaten path.
Everything there is to see and do in Florence: the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia, etc.; as well as shopping, dining, convention centers and more, are within easy walking distance.
One thing that makes staying here a unique experience is the owners, Carmel and Pino. They make you feel like a visiting friend.
All guest have access to our terrace, an oasis after a busy day of shopping and sightseeing
What they say about us
A very clean functional room with daily room service and very quiet too. The large patio was a big bonus...a beautiful spot to relax with a glass of wine or snack after a long day of sightseeing. Carmel was very helpful in any manner that we required. The location was perfect, minutes to restaurants, coffee shops, and local historical sights.
We had 5 enjoyable nights and would recommend this cute hotel.Curiosity738601
10/03/2019My fiancé and I stayed here for three nights on our two-week trip through Italy this past September. We had a very lovely stay here, though the biggest downfall was the bed being a bit uncomfortable. No breakfast on site but plenty of nearby cafés for coffee or a quick bite. The hosts were very friendly and gave lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Minutes away from the train station and all the action Florence has to offer. Would highly recommend!

12/22/2018The hotel is a 10 minute walk from The Duomo, the train station, and within easy walking distance of other attractions.
Rooms acceptable. Rust in the shower, but price good. One coffee pod per person per day, plus a small cake of some sort. But they’ll usually give you a couple of extra, or charge .50 per pod, which is normal elsewhere. Fridge in room. Bed comfy.
Rooftop patio is used by the family. Festivities start at 8 and go on to the wee hours on a weekend night. The night we arrived, there was not a chair to be had or used by anyone not invited to their dinner. Wood fire was festive, but smoke drifted into every room. This is not the place to stay to recover from jet lag. Echoing in halls is also pronounced because of the hard floors. Room came with earplugs, which should have been a sign. A little of that is to be expected at this price.
WiFi nonfunctional throughout 2nd floor. We learned the owner sometimes shuts it off. Ask people at desk and they’ll tell you about the 2nd server.
Lots of return guests. Hotel safe. Just a few blocks from the main Mercado. People will talk to you on the patio. Owners very helpful with tips in person and by email. MoreTheShellSeeker
11/25/2019Carmel was an amazing host with excellent knowledge of the local areas and great recommendations for food and activities. We staying in room 8 which opened out onto the terrace (would highly recommend!) which was very spacious and clean. The room had everything we could need including towels and a hairdryer. Excellent location being within a 10 minute walk to the train station and extremely close to the centre of Florence and all of the attractions. Thank you!

5/15/2019My husband and I stayed three nights at Il Bargellino. We had never been to Florence, so most of our stay involved being away from the hotel. The location is perfect, you’re walking distance to every attraction. Carmel and Pino were great hosts - always providing helpful information and available to call a cab. I felt safe and secure in the establishment. The room is a good size but the bathroom was small. However, for the price, I really shouldn’t complain. Our room was always clean and the patio was nice - I did my makeup outside every morning. If you’re a light sleeper, such as myself, bring earplugs because while the chirping of the birds is a wonderful sound, it is less wonderful at 4 AM. More

5/27/2019Carmel and Pino are enthusiastic hosts that help make your stay in Florence a great experience. Easily walkable from train station as well as only 10 minutes from the Duomo. Can’t say enough about the great hospitality. Also enjoyed the spacious terrazzo in late afternoons.

4/13/2019We arrived with 3 adults and 2 children. It was easy to find right out of the train station. Carmel was friendly and so accommodating. Our room had three beds, two single and a king. The bathroom was quite large, and VERY clean. We were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go, and never used transportation the whole 5 days we were there. Food was available within a block, but please, root out the small, family owned places; it’s worth it! We bought meats, cheeses, fruits, and wine and ate out on the homey and comfortable terrace. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I felt at home. More
